The Developing Artist Collaboration (DAC) is not an 'arts organization'. We are an Artist First Movement.
Our model differs from most Arts Non-Profits in a big way. We are here to help Artists nurture their passions in a self-sustaining model. Our purpose is to provide Artists with career development, peer connection, and physical spaces to build elevated creative lifestyles.
Any Artist can join DAC regardless of their skills, medium, or accomplishments. We believe that every Artist has room for growth, and we provide an individual approach in identifying solutions for every Artist we serve.

We have worked with almost 1000 Artists over the last decade, plus the leaders of our organization are also Artists! We have impactful programming that address the core needs of an Artist:
Access to opportunity to sell/ show their work.
Connection to other Artists to build community.
Resources like content creation, mentorship, print services, rentable spaces, career growth tracking, and more!
Education that addresses their business, mindset, and marketing skills through our flagship EMERGE program.

We’ve discovered that the #1 challenge for Artists is their mindset. So many simply don’t believe they’re worthy of being called an Artist. By connecting them to resources, education, opportunity, and connection to other Artists - we find this transforms their mindset. Feeling part of a community gives them a sense of belonging. Access to education & resources to grow at their own pace. Once they conquer that, anything is possible.

We believe in transforming spaces for Artists and the community to thrive. You can catch us out in the community at events! Our West Side Creative Market is our signature event venue where we have weekly public events in the Summer and over private event rentals plus community partnership events. We also have our biggest fundraiser of the year, TacoMania, in October where we celebrate the culinary arts.

Did you know there are only 2 commericial galleries left in Downtown Rehoboth? There are few and far between opportunities for Emerging Artists to show & sell their work. We believe in creating amazing events that nurture the careers of our Artists, and also bask our community in culture. Our events are beloved by the community because our mission is to bring out the creativity in everyone.
Our Headquarters: Artpothecary

Welcome to our headquarters! Our warehouse is located in historic West Rehoboth. We created a public-arts space in our facility called “The Artpothecary”. We operate all of our DAC meetings, groups, and internal events here plus it is a private party space for our community. In the summer, we open it up for the public to visit, enjoy a drink, make some art, or just come and learn about us.

Since we are a really cool nonprofit, we needed a even cooler building! This is a space for our entire community to thrive in! Since Creative Market limits us whenever there is bad weather, this space allows us to connect with the community and operate our programming anytime.

DAC began with a bold vision: artists have the power to change the world. What started as a big idea has evolved into the thriving organization we are today—built by Artists, with plenty of support along the way. Our mission and structure are truly one-of-a-kind, setting us apart from any other nonprofit in the world.
