Gail Gingrich
Living on the Delaware Bay, surrounded by sand, water, and native vegetation has given me endless inspiration for my work. My journey into jewelry design began with the discovery of ancient and atonishing beach stones reminiscent of paintings and landscape. These beach stones have been my inspiration to build upon. Copper, silver, and brass are my metals of choice. I utilize techniques for metalsmithing, lapidary and enameling. The vocabularyof my metalwork is inspired by the debris that has washed ashore. The debris while originally man made are reworked by the earth, tumbled, crushed, and shaped anew. Jewelry design and fabrication has given me the opportunity to be creative and to enter a life long journey of learning and discovery. Enhancing my ability to appreciate the natural beauty of my environment is important for my personal peace and joy of life.
