I am a retired high school English teacher who moved to Delaware to live the good life -- loving both the beaches and the diverse artist community. I have loved drawing, painting, writing and photography from a very young age, but it is only now that I have the time to give my artistic dreams full expression. I'm always seeeking to grow and evolve as an artist in multiple mediums. I prefer to let my creative process ebb and flow, rather than get locked in to using one medium one way. In recent years, I've been applying dot-painting techniques to a variety of illustrations beyond the mandala to create functional art for the home. I enjoy up-cycling common items that I find and turning them into pieces of art rather than allowing them to simply fill landfills. My photography spans the genres of landscape, street, and fine art, and my images make their way to canvas, metal and glass, as well as, museum quality paper printed with archival inks. I find my inspiration from viewing the works of other artists and speaking with them about their creative process at festivals. I've traveled with renowned National Geo photographers to beautiful places and have benefitted from their critiques of my work. I've also learned from people who have stopped by my booth at festivals. I’ve enjoyed their expressions as they interact with my work or ask me questions. Many of my acrylic creations have a whimsical vibe, which makes people smile. It brings me joy to create art that can bring a little light-heartedness back to the world.
